Nobody puts this movie in a corner! Set during a 1963 summer vacation, Dirty Dancing follows Baby Houseman as she discovers romance, rebellion and a whole new world of dance with the charismatic Johnny Castle. Patrick Swayze and Jennifer Grey have chemistry to spare, and the soundtrack is packed with songs that practically demand to be sung along with.
But underneath the dancing and romance is a surprisingly heartfelt story about growing up, standing up for what you believe and discovering that the world is more complicated than it first appears. Add that unforgettable final dance and you've got one of those movies that audiences simply love to watch together.
