KOYAANISQATSI

Godfrey Reggio's extraordinary images of cities, machines, crowds, nature, and human beings—combined with Philip Glass's hypnotic score—create something closer to a cinematic symphony than a conventional film. The title comes from a Hopi word meaning “life out of balance,” and that idea echoes through every frame. This is a film that demands to be experienced on a big screen, in a dark room, surrounded by an audience. Forget the phone. Forget the outside world. Just watch.
